Carved Stone Lettering Techniques
The traditional hand-carved (incised) V-cut lettering is beautiful and considered the most elegant option. The letters would not normally be colored, however, they can be if desired.
Sandblasted lettering, a classic and elegant method, is also deeply recessed into the stone and can be filled with gold leaf or exterior paints.
The red "Mystique" is achieved by a deeply recessed sand blasted lettering which is then painted.
The "of Marble" is hand carved V-cut (incised) lettering gilded with 22 carat gold leaf.
The "Vermont Marble Company" is also hand carved V-cut and gilded 14 carat gold leaf.
